PROCEDURE
REPLACE CYLINDER BLOCK STUD BOLT
If a stud bolt is deformed or the threads are damaged, replace it.
Remove the cylinder block stud bolts.
Apply adhesive to the holes for the cylinder block stud bolts (A) on the cylinder block sub-assembly. Install new cylinder block stud bolts (A).

Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1344, Three Bond 1344 or equivalent |
Using an E5 "TORX" socket wrench, install new cylinder block stud bolts (B) and (C).
*A | Intake Side | *B | Exhaust Side |
Apply adhesive to the holes for the cylinder block stud bolts on the crankshaft bearing cap. Install 2 new cylinder block stud bolts to the crankshaft bearing cap.

REPLACE CYLINDER BLOCK STRAIGHT PIN
It is not necessary to remove a cylinder block straight pin unless it is being replaced.
Remove the cylinder block straight pin.
Using a plastic hammer, tap in a new cylinder block straight pin to the cylinder block sub-assembly.

Using a plastic hammer, tap in a new cylinder block ring pin to the crankshaft bearing cap.
