DESCRIPTION

If the exhaust pipe air hoses of the differential pressure sensor are incorrectly connected (crossed), the ECM interprets this as an abnormal pressure difference and DTC P2453 will be stored and the MIL will be illuminated.

Start the engine and drive the vehicle with a engine speed of 3000 rpm or more (3rd gear) for 10 minutes or more. Then turn the ignition switch off and wait for 30 seconds or more. |

DTC P2454 (Differential pressure sensor circuit low) and/or DTC P2455 (Differential pressure sensor high) will be present if there is an open or short in the differential pressure sensor circuit.

When replacing the ECM and/or DPF catalyst, perform ECM Initialization and Registration.

When the ECM must be replaced, before replacing the ECM, perform the "Learning Values Save" function using the GTS. Then after installing a new ECM, perform all of the initialization and registration procedures for the "Learning Values Write" function by following the instructions shown on the GTS display.
Read freeze frame data using the GTS. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
Check the DPF Differential Pressure using the GTS by entering the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / DPF Differential Pressure.

PROCEDURE
CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P2453)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
Read the DTCs.

CHECK CONNECTION OF VACUUM TRANSMITTING HOSE (DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR - VACUUM TRANSMITTING PIPE)
Check if vacuum transmitting hoses routing between the differential pressure sensor and the vacuum transmitting pipe is correct.

Be careful of being burned by exhaust gases during the following inspection.
Disconnect both vacuum transmitting hoses (upstream and downstream) on the differential pressure sensor.
Start the engine.
Check if there are exhaust gas pulsations from both vacuum transmitting hoses during idling.

PERFORM DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE SENSOR LEARNING
Start the engine and allow it to idle until the engine coolant temperature reaches 75°C (167°F) or higher (A).
Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 30 seconds or more (B).
Repeat the above procedures (A) and (B) 3 times.
Procedures (A) and (B) must be repeated 3 times to complete the differential pressure sensor learning process.

Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.
Clear the DTCs.
Powertrain > Engine and ECT > Clear DTCsTurn the ignition switch off and wait for 30 seconds.
Start the engine and drive the vehicle with an engine speed of 3000 rpm or more (3rd gear) for 10 minutes or more.

When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.
Turn the ignition switch off and wait for 30 seconds or more.
Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
Confirm that the DTC is not output again.
