DTC Code | DTC Name |
---|---|
P0516 | Battery Temperature Sensor Circuit Low |
P0517 | Battery Temperature Sensor Circuit High |
DESCRIPTION
The battery temperature sensor built into the generator control ECU assembly detects the battery temperature. A thermistor is integrated into the battery temperature sensor, and the resistance of the thermistor changes according to the battery temperature. The resistance of the thermistor increases as the battery temperature decreases and decreases as the temperature increases. The generator control ECU assembly reduces the amount of charging current based on this signal in order to protect the battery.
DTC No. | Detection Item | DTC Detection Condition | Trouble Area | MIL | Memory |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
P0516 | Battery Temperature Sensor Circuit Low |
Battery temperature sensor output value is abnormally low for 0.5 seconds or more with the ignition switch ON (1 trip detection logic) |
Generator control ECU assembly | Does not come on | DTC stored |
P0517 | Battery Temperature Sensor Circuit High |
Battery temperature sensor output value is abnormally high for 0.5 seconds or more with the ignition switch ON (1 trip detection logic) |
Generator control ECU assembly | Does not come on | DTC stored |
